Kahlil Joseph – NEW SUNS

In his absorbing films, Los Angeles-based artist and filmmaker Kahlil Joseph conjures the lush and impressionistic quality of dreams with particular reverence for quotidian moments and intimate scenes. New Suns is Kahlil Josephs first solo exhibition in Europe, showing a selection of his most important films in recent years including m.A.A.d., Wizard Of The Upper Amazon, Until the Quiet Comes, Wildcat (Aunt Janet) and Alice™.
Robin de Puy – Randy

In 2015 portrait photographer Robin de Puy travelled across America on a motorcycle. During this trip, an intimate portrait gave rise in text and image of both herself as of the persons portrayed, in particular a boy named Randy. In the Bonnefantenmuseum, Robin de Puy is presenting this portrait of Randy in the form of an installation that comprises photos and film.
The Jacques & Miny Defauwes Collection

The exhibition The Jacques & Miny Defauwes Collection revolves around the friendship and protracted exchange of letters between the couple and artist Jaap Mooy (1915-1987). A selection of works by Jaap Mooy and by contemporary artists from the Defauwes
collection forms the basis for a refreshing view of these distinctive collectors.
Neutelings Collection
This exhibition shows artworks from the collection of the private collector Willem Neutelings (1916 – 1986). Artworks from Northern France, the Netherlands and the Rhineland predominate in this diverse collection, which forms part of the Bonnefantenmuseum’s ‘treasury’.

Beating around the bush is an exhibition programme since 2014, in which the Bonnefantenmuseum is presenting its collection in an investigative
way. In episodes, both the fixed values and the ‘quiet reserve’ of the collection are brought into dialogue with new and proposed acquisitions. Episode #5 presents solo presentations by Edward Lipski, Johan Tahon and Helen Verhoeven. Reacting to and inspired by the Bonnefantenmuseum’s old masters, they have specially created new work.
