SOFA was founded almost 16 years ago by Evelyne and Jeroen Holten. The establishment, located in a former harbour canteen, is divided into two parts: a brasserie area with accessible entourage and a restaurant area with white linen on the table. The menu therefore includes a variety of dishes, ranging from sandwiches and salads for lunch, to a la carte brasserie dishes and a three- to five-course surprise menu.
Not too long ago, patron-cuisinier Jeroen handed over his chef’s jacket to Rojin Shahkhya, the protégé he taught the chef’s trade and the flavour of SOFA in recent years. Basically, therefore, little has changed on SOFA’s menu since Rojin’s arrival, except that the Nepalese-born chef likes to cook multicultural and veg(n). An absolute addition to the restaurant formula.
SOFA is known and loved for its location in Maastricht’s marina and its lovely, sun-drenched terrace.
