Housed in a beautiful old building from 1880 in the centre of Roermond, is Het Gerecht, the intimate restaurant of Cederik Pieters and Ellis Huijnen. The duo moved from southern Limburg to the small Roermond town in 2019 to make their gastronomic dreams come true. In their restaurant – which, incidentally, is not named after the flavour creations on the table here, but the old courthouse across the street – you should quickly feel at home as a guest. If not because of the cosy, homely decor, then because of the hospitality with which Ellis receives her guests. Later in the afternoon or evening, Ellis will surprise you with an oeuvre of creative aperitifs and innovative wines.
Cederik also surprises, in his case by combining the classic French base he learned from master Toine Hermsen with experiences gained during internships in Oxford, Bangkok and Shanghai. In his creations, he dares to make non-ordinary combinations for a surprising afternoon or evening out.
