For years, Jan and Patricia Marrees held a Michelin star at their restaurant Bretelli in Weert. In late 2018, the couple decided to swap the city-centre restaurant for a more spacious location, which, among other things, resulted in the star being lost. But not for long. Under the new name Marrees, Jan and Patricia achieved another Michelin star in 2020. Michelin refers to the ‘2.0 version of Jan Marrees’ as a ‘must-visit’. The Weerter chef is known for the relaxed way he leads his kitchen team. An approach that nevertheless results a in a beautiful menu, including a wide selection of small appetiser dishes. The presentation of the dishes shows craftsmanship and love for classic gastronomy.
