The surprise at the presentation of the Michelin Guide 2023: restaurant Flavours in Weert. Although it has been the proud holder of a Bib Gourmand in the past, chef Ron Lemmens did not think that another star would ever twinkle above the door. Michelin describes Lemmens’ cuisine and creations as “special”, without unnecessary surprises but with incisive power.
In his kitchen, Lemmens also very consciously opts for a classic French base, indeed without too many liflafjes. Everything that appears on the plate here has a function. Partner Lindsay also serves an extremely affordable selection of wines with gems from almost every major wine country in the world, including a small number from Belgium and the Netherlands.
Currently, Flavours is still located in the centre of Weert. In 2024, Ron, Lindsay and their team will seek out the peace and quiet of the green Boshoven district.
