For thirty years, De Leuf in Ubachsberg was a restaurant centred on classic French cuisine at an absolutely top level. This changed in early 2018 when Robin van de Bunt, second generation in the family business, took charge of the kitchen after a trip through Asia. He introduced light cuisine with a classic base but, above all, plenty of Asian touches. The fifth flavour element umami took centre stage.
After that switch in the kitchen and corresponding adjustments to the drinks menu – maître-sommelier Michelle van de Bunt serves beautiful wines but also dares to alternate that with teas, sake or other drinks – in the summer of 2022 it was also time to revamp De Leuf’s interior. The classic surroundings were exchanged for a hip, sleek décor described as Asian aesthetics using local materials and fully in keeping with the dishes and drinks on offer. The focus here is on experience in the restaurant and at the table. De Leuf 2.0 is now complete and ready for the future.
