Château St. Gerlach

Valkenburg
Hotel

On the edge of the Ingendael nature reserve lies the impressive five-star superior Château St. Gerlach, thoughtfully restored to offer a high-end, multi-experience environment. As a proud member of Relais & Châteaux, the estate encompasses historic buildings—including the original Pachthof, the monastery, and the grain barns—transformed into elegant guest rooms and residences, the refined Les Salons restaurant, the casual Bistro Burgemeester Quicx, a state-of-the-art event venue, and a luxurious Spa & Wellness centre.

Nestled in the Geul valley and the Ingendael nature area, the estate is surrounded by sprawling parks, a vineyard, herb gardens, orchards, rose gardens, and a church adorned with stunning 18th-century frescoes. The château itself dates back to 1200 and was originally built as a monastery to accommodate pilgrims paying homage to the hermit Gerlach of Houthem. Guest rooms, housed in the former farm buildings, offer picturesque views of the baroque gardens.

The restaurant, which retains all its aristocratic charm, serves refined French cuisine, while Bistro Burgemeester Quicx provides a more informal setting for relaxed dining.
