After Studio opened in spring 2021, the restaurant grew in no time into an absolute hotspot for foodies from Maastricht and far beyond. In his cosy restaurant in the bustling Wyck district, Gilbert von Berg knows how to amaze guests with taste explosions at absolute top level. The secret to that success? A classic basis as solid as a house and the courage to follow one’s own feelings for the rest. Von Berg and his sous-chef Cas Driessen do not follow a specific cooking style, they do what they like and enjoy, making trips to the most diverse world cuisines, from Japan to South America and everything in between.
The mostly luxury quality products that pass through here undergo a whole series of meticulous preparations before appearing on the plate. This all happens in an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, so at Studio, all 25 guests are seated at the chef’s table.
